The latest blotter: Feckless fir fetchers faulted

Tuesday, Dec. 1
6:30 p.m. — A possible DUI driver in a white, four-door Oldsmobile was crossing the yellow line near Christenson Road and Highway 525.

Wednesday, Dec. 2
10:12 a.m. — A dead deer was on the shoulder of the road on Sandy Point Road.
11:03 a.m. — Someone said they could see hunters in a large camouflage boat near Baby Island. The caller said it looked like they were duck hunters.
11:27 a.m. — A caller said a pit bull attacked a young girl who was riding her bike on Harbor Avenue.
2:40 p.m. — A caller complained about a locked door at Skagit Valley College in Ken’s Korner. She said it was a fire-code violation and that she had reported it several times before.
6:48 p.m. — A possible DUI driver in a green Mercedes was crossing the double-yellow line and the fog line on Highway 525 near Double Bluff Road.

Thursday, Dec. 3
12:29 a.m. — A house party was reported on Scriven Lane.
6:01 a.m. — A driver in a Ford Escape hit a deer on Day Road.
6:16 a.m. — A man said some of his prescription medication has been stolen. He said it was heart, anxiety and pain pills for his broken back.
6:47 a.m. — A dark-colored van was seen weaving all over the road after leaving a gas station on Highway 525.
9:12 a.m. — A caller said a man was sitting outside a store on Main Street with a gun.
9:35 a.m. — A man said there was a lot of smoke coming from a small boat about a quarter mile off the beach near Kohlwes Road.
10:21 a.m. — A dead deer needed to be removed from the roadway on Langley Road between Maxwelton Road and the fairgrounds.
1:34 p.m. — A man said people were stealing fir branches from his sister’s property.
3:56 p.m. — A caller reported a reckless driver on Highway 525 near Bayview Road. He was described as an older man wearing a hat in a blue Chevy pickup.
5:18 p.m. — A driver hit a deer on Highway 525 just south of Houston Road.
5:35 p.m. — A woman hit a dog on Useless Bay Road near Highway 525.
10:20 p.m. — A caller reported a heated argument on Honeymoon Lake Drive. There was swearing and yelling, and a man said his hair was pulled.

Friday, Dec. 4
12:20 a.m. — A driver was crossing the center line on Highway 525 near Wonn Road.
12:45 a.m. — A man said several vehicles with drivers who had been drinking were getting ready to leave a place in Freeland.
1:34 p.m. — A man was walking along Highway 525 with a rifle over his shoulder. He was wearing a black beanie hat, a camo coat and blue jeans.
2:40 p.m. — A man said he just saw a fender-bender near Main Street in Freeland. There were no injuries, and the drivers were exchanging information.
3:37 p.m. — A caller on Indian Point Lane saw a small buck dragging its back leg.
