South End blotter | Sky rockets in flight

Sunday, July 4
5:30 p.m. — A man fell off a boat into the water off Hidden Beach Drive.
5:39 p.m. — A woman wanted to talk about ticketing people who park in her driveway on Swanson Street.
6:18 p.m. — A possible DUI driver pulled into a gas station in Freeland.
6:29 p.m. — A mailbox was stolen on Hawthorne Lane and the caller said his mail was strewn all over.
6:39 p.m. — A man on Swede Hill Road said someone was discharging an automatic weapon nearby.
6:42 p.m. — A caller said a neighbor on Huckleberry Lane was lighting M-80s.
6:53 p.m. — A three-car accident was reported on Highway 525 near Sanford Drive.
7:40 p.m. — A caller said a group was getting ready to start a large fire on Double Bluff Beach.
8:37 p.m. — Someone was shooting off illegal fireworks near Lakeside Drive and Kirkwood Lane.
8:39 p.m. — A caller on Hidden Beach Drive reported the use of illegal fireworks.
8:46 p.m. — A caller complained of illegal fireworks on Central Avenue.
9:16 p.m. — Someone was shooting off what sounded like a cannon near Humphrey Road and Soaring Eagle Lane.
9:18 p.m. — A woman complained of illegal fireworks on Sunlight Beach Road.
9:19 p.m. — A caller on Huckleberry Lane said a neighbor was setting off M-80s.
9:20 p.m. — A man said he saw a young man put beer in the trunk of a vehicle at a Freeland gas station and said he thought minors would get access to the beer.
9:28 p.m. — People were shooting off M-80s near Beachwood Drive. The caller said he had post traumatic stress disorder and the noise was upsetting him.
9:45 p.m. — A man on Clam Walk complained about fireworks and skyrockets that were coming too close to his house.
9:58 p.m. — A resident on Gramayre Road said illegal fireworks were going off nearby.
10:31 p.m. — A caller complained of too many explosions on Carie Lane and wanted a police patrol.
10:37 p.m. — A caller on Coachman Court complained of fireworks in the neighborhood, and raised concerns about dry grass.
11:21 p.m. — A resident on Hodges Avenue called about fireworks.
11:39 p.m. — Loud fireworks were heard near  Cedar Acres Lane.
11:59 p.m. — A caller complained about fireworks on Elton Street.

Monday, July 5
12:30 a.m. — A caller said it sounded like someone was shooting a cannon near Humphrey Road.
1:17 a.m. — A loose horse was reported on Jewett Road.
1:34 a.m. — A possible DUI driver was reported on Holmes View Drive.
9:45 a.m. — Mail was found strewn along the road near Bayview and Sunlight Beach roads.
10:48 a.m. — A caller on Jewett Road reported a white horse that had escaped overnight.
11:52 a.m. — An elderly woman walked into the fire station on Cameron Road and said someone broke into her home the night before and she had been driving around all night because she is scared.
3:09 p.m. — A caller on Deer Lake Road said a large black dog with mud on his face was found on the property.
7:47 p.m. — A driver stopped for ice cream on Shore Avenue and left the vehicle with the engine running. The dogs inside the 2007 Chevy Suburban then locked the doors, leaving the driver stranded.
8:19 p.m. — A driver in a Honda was speeding on Mercer Drive and intentionally hit a sign that said “slow down.”
10:05 p.m. — Fireworks were reported near Pinecrest Avenue.
10:31 p.m. — A caller complained of fireworks near Honeymoon Bay Road and Dunlap Drive.
10:43 p.m. — An old pickup truck was reportedly disabled in the ferry lane at Clinton.

Tuesday, July 6
6:56 a.m. — A caller on Driftwood Drive complained of crab poaching. Three people were seen wading with nets.

Tuesday, July 13
8:17 a.m.  — A vicious dog was running loose on Bells Beach Road.
10:47 a.m.  — A woman on Berg Road wanted to talk about vandalism and thefts in the neighborhood.
11:24 a.m.  — A man on Sorrel Lane said there were fraudulent charges on his debit card.
12:31 p.m.  — A man on Linda Lane wanted to talk about the condition of his mower after it was returned after being stolen.
12:37 p.m.  — Gunfire was heard on Lancaster Road.
5:45 p.m.  — A man said he was assaulted at the Eagles Club.
6:34 p.m.  — A woman said her roommate’s boyfriend was threatening her. She told dispatchers she was going to go sit in her vehicle.
8:44 p.m.  — A caller complained of a burn pile near Mutiny Bay Road and Meadowood Lane.
10 p.m.  — A caller complained about a burn near Bob Galbreath Road and Wrightsman Place.

Wednesday, July 14
8:14 a.m.  —
A caller wanted to talk about a dog bite that happened on June 30.
10:41 a.m.  — A small boat appeared adrift in the water off Scurlock Road.
11:07 a.m.  — A worker at a Freeland business said a customer wrote a $10,000 check that bounced.
11:23 a.m.  — A driver on Highway 525 near Gramayre Road was crossing into oncoming traffic and going over the fog line.
